It's a New Year — Time for a Change.
If you don't know me, watch this one minute video first. Subscription is Free, BTW.
It’s 2025. The start of a new cycle. This one starts with many more possibilities and no censorship. Welcome to my first Substack post.
Why I do what I do and why do I do it that way?
I’ve been a musician and songwriter all my life. That’s a long time. I’ve also been very concerned about the state of mankind.
It doesn’t take a genius to know something’s really wacko out there. And it’s getting wacko-er at a much faster pace. So even though I’ve been a recording artist on Polydor, Columbia and RCA Records, you probably haven’t heard of me. Why?
Because every time I sit down to write a “hit” song I see something going on in the world and my mind takes an about face. I say, “damn all the money and women! I’ve got to alert people to what’s happening.”
But here’s the problem. People are either numb to all the news (phony and real) or they’re apathetic and think nothing can be done. Or the problem is too big so who the frick cares! So how do you get around all this? Well, I think I found a solution. Or, at least, something I could do about it.
We can’t just keep preaching to the choir.
We need a bigger choir. We outnumber the bad guys millions to one. We need to get more people aware of what’s happening. And it doesn’t mean we have to convince everyone. Just a small percentage of those billions would do nicely.
Simply put, how do you inspire people to sit long enough to get the information? Especially people who don’t watch long documentaries or read big books on the subjects.
With ENTERTAINMENT!
(Telethon. Circa 1995)
I use art, film, music, animation to get the message out.
For the last 25 years I’ve been creating albums on my own record label (Wire Duck Records). I also create my own music videos, documentaries, short films and books.
I use humor and satire mixed in with serious stuff to try to keep the listeners interested so hopefully they’ll walk away with more understanding of what’s going on.
Several of my music videos (and a few full-length and short films) have won awards at Film Festivals. And if you look at the comments on my YouTube channel, you’ll see what people think of them.
The only problem I run into is exposure. YouTube, Facebook and Google don’t like my face. So they’re hiding my songs and videos as best they can. But I’m finding ways to go around those jokers. This substack is one of those ways.
So…
Hope you like my creations and will subscribe and help me get the word out. Like I said, we need a bigger choir. Maybe we can make the world a bit better and have fun doing it.
